The wizard exercises the configured recording scenarios, including any enabled pause-and-resume behavior, then asks an administrator to place and review a verification call. Successful validation confirms capture, delivery, and playback for the scenarios tested; it does not promise that every possible future call path is covered.

Delivery journaling can retry recordings captured locally, but it cannot recover media that the Cisco environment never sent to the recorder. Local storage and journaling preserve audio already captured by the recorder and track pending CDR and delivery work while connectivity is interrupted. When the backend is reachable again, durable retries resume. Retention policies determine how long confirmed recordings are kept; journaling cannot reconstruct media that never reached the recorder.
