Recording architecture
Traditional: big servers, vendor hardware, database licenses.
Call Observe: lightweight stateless recorders, run with docker, or your hypervisor of choice.
Network security
Traditional: wide firewall ranges such as UDP 16384–32768.
Call Observe: outbound HTTPS only, aligned with ZTNA designs.
Resilience and capacity
Traditional: capacity tied to large appliance pairs.
Call Observe: journaled delivery and independent scale-out nodes.
A PURPOSE-BUILT SELF-SERVICE PLATFORM
Traditional call recording platforms often begin with discovery calls, statements of work, installation fees, and a vendor-managed implementation schedule. Call Observe was designed from the ground up to remove those barriers.
Our setup wizard gathers your requirements, recommends the configuration, and provisions Call Recording on your Cisco CUCM or Webex infrastructure once approved. A final call to the recording pilot number confirms the deployment.
Your team can evaluate the complete solution in its own Cisco voice environment, using real calls and the same workflow intended for production.
A SIMPLER ARCHITECTURE FOR REGULATED ENVIRONMENTS
The recording server is focused on capturing calls reliably and delivering them securely. It has no local administrative interface and does not expose an inbound management service.
Run the zero-config, headless, stateless recorder on almost any container platform or hypervisor in your network while retaining your existing infrastructure standards and support model.
The recording server requires outbound HTTPS access to the Call Observe SaaS backend and access to the Cisco voice infrastructure it serves. With no inbound internet access, port forwarding, or local management interface, the architecture aligns naturally with modern ZTNA security models.
Local storage and journaling preserve recording audio and account for every CDR while connectivity is interrupted. When the backend is reachable again, durable retries pick up where they left off.
A 4 GB RAM / 2 vCPU recorder supports up to 512 concurrent calls.* Each stateless node adds up to another 512 calls, with as many as 16 nodes per SIP trunk—allowing capacity to scale from a single call to environments approaching 10,000 concurrent calls.
*Exact concurrent call capacity varies by codec and workload.
OUR NO BILL SHOCK PROMISE
Choose Standard or Pro with confidence that normal changes in call volume will not change the basis of your monthly bill. We are proud to offer pricing that is simple, transparent, and predictable.
*In the interest of quality of service for every customer, use is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. We think you will find it fair and easy to understand. The short version: no autodialers.
